Hiking vacation in Willingen
HIKING IS GOOD FOR THE SOUL
The Wilddieb is located in the middle of one of the most beautiful hiking areas in the Sauerland. You can set off directly from the house in all directions. The landscape is a dream. Mountain ranges alternate with valleys. Forests, fields and meadows with small streams delight the eye. A total of 300 km are waiting to be hiked, offering great views and historical, geological and cultural highlights.
have interesting or modern sights to offer. There are many certified quality hiking trails, including the challenging Uplandsteig, which are all excellently signposted. One of the most impressive structures along the way is our ski jump, which is the largest in the world.

NATURAL PARADISE AND ADVENTURE WORLD
The Wilddieb is located in the middle of one of the most beautiful hiking areas in the Sauerland. You can set off directly from the house in all directions. The Ettelsberg cable car takes everyone comfortably up to the Gifpel (838 m), but here at the Wilddieb you are already at 700 m anyway. The path up the mountain is easy to manage, even for families. Once at the top, the Hochheideturm is a magical attraction. Its platform at 875 m above sea level is the highest accessible point in north-west Germany and offers breathtaking views. Our heathland deserves a special mention, as it blooms in bright heather colors in August. The Wilddieb is virtually surrounded by heath, the high heath on the Ettelsberg is so rare and valuable that it is a nature reserve.
Right next to the tower is the snow pond, a water collection basin so that we have enough water for snowmaking in winter and a play area for the kids. The Kyrill Trail promises an adventure. It still shows impressive traces of the hurricane of 2007.
And if you come along the trail, you’ll find a wonderful place to stop for refreshments here or in one of the other huts.
